Lucky Number Sterling Silver Charms. Ladies With
Luck.
Celebrities have been spotted wearing their
lucky numbers as silver charms on chains for a while.
However, with the recent release of two popular “number”
movies this is one celebrity jewelry trend that is going to
have a rerun.
One movie starlet has been snapped on many occasions wearing a
number 8 for hubby professional athlete. Many other celebrities
opt to wear their birthdays, years of birth, or children's
birthdays around their necks. Great examples of this are a
young teen star wearing an 7 and 5 for her year of birth, and
another movie celeb has been seen wearing a 1 and a 2 for the
day her daughter was born.
The movie starlet's number 8 silver charm is pave set with
sparkling stones (diamonds we assume), but silver number charms
are widely available set with the less costly cubic zirconias.
Number charms are also available in plain silver if you prefer
a more subtle look. She has been snapped wearing her sparkly
number 8 in both black and white outfits, and as usual for this
tiny star, in very high heels.
Wearing Your Sterling Silver
Jewelry
Lucky number charms are an ideal
day look. The silver charms that are set with the diamonds or
CZs are going to look a little more costly and will be ideal
for a broader range of occasions and events. The plain silver
number charms will work well for the office, shopping, lunches,
sports matches, and any other day time activity. The pave set
number charms will likewise suit all day activities and may
work for some smart casual evening events. The sparkly number
is probably not going to be appropriate for a lot of
sophisticated events in the evening, unless they have a
gambling theme, or are in a casino. (She has been seen wearing
hers in a casino with a slinky dress.)
Wearing a neckline that allows your lucky number to be seen is
a great idea. Although she wore hers with plain white and
black, these charms will be suitable to wear with anything.
Jeans and t-shirts, or simple sun dresses are going to set them
off nicely.
When purchasing a number sterling silver charm you should check
for a few things. Firstly, your number should be shiny and
unmarked. Good quality silver jewelry will be stamped with one
of these: sterling, ster, sterling silver, or 925. You will
often also see a jeweler's stamp or hallmark. These stamps are
your guarantees that your charm is indeed 925 sterling silver
jewelry. If you are electing to have your number charm pave set
(the stones are inlaid into the charm) the stones should all be
secure and sitting flat. The stones should sparkle and fire.
Rhodium plated charms are a great choice as the rhodium will
protect your charm from tarnishing, and will also give the
charm a higher shine.
Cleaning Sterling Silver
Jewelry
If your charm should start to lose
its shine simply wipe it over with a silver polishing cloth.
Commercial sterling silver jewelry cleaner can also be used
with great results. Neither of these two products will harm
your stones, if you have any. If your stones should start to
lose their sparkle or if the setting starts to accumulate
deposits use a jewelry cleaning kit. Use the brush provided to
gently clean around the stones, taking care not to dislodge
any. While cleaning your stones it is always a great idea to
ensure that all the stones are still firmly set in
place.
When you are not wearing your silver charm, store it in an
airtight zip lock bag, or a jeweler's pouch. This will prevent
your charm from tarnishing and being scratched by other
items.
Lucky number
sterling silver charms can be a fun way for women
to show their support of a loved one, or just to enhance their
good fortune with Lady Luck.
